Which Aqara hub to buy
Aqara sensors, switches and most smart locks need a hub. The Aqara EU store sells four that can run your smart home – from a USB stick for €30 to a wall-mounted hub with Ethernet. Specifications and prices are from eu.aqara.com.

Older Aqara hubs
Hub M2, Hub E1 and Hub M1S Gen 2 are sold out in the Aqara EU store. Zigbee devices from an older hub can be moved to the Hub M3; in Apple Home or another Matter app they then have to be added again.
Which one to choose
Hub M100 if you are starting out or live in a flat: it plugs into your router’s USB port, brings Thread and Matter and is the cheapest way in. It replaces the sold-out Hub E1 in the same stick shape.
Hub M200 for most homes: Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, an IR blaster that makes an ordinary air conditioner or TV smart, and a loud speaker for alarms.
Hub M3 for a larger home with many devices, or if automations must keep running during an internet outage – it runs them locally and can be powered from a power bank or UPS in a power cut.
Camera Hub G3 if you want an indoor camera anyway and use Zigbee sensors only. Aqara doesn’t list Thread or Matter for it, so newer Thread devices need one of the M hubs.
