When do I get the reward? Starlink says rewards go out from about 60 days after activation – the exact timing depends on your country, account settings and an identity check. Austria, Croatia and Hungary sell a 50 GB plan instead of 100 GB. Rules: Starlink help on traveling with Roam, in-motion use and pausing with Standby Mode. Prices change often – the order form for your country is what counts.

100 GB or Unlimited?

Starlink says 100 GB lasts about a week of normal use. For weekends and holidays inside Europe, 100 GB is enough, and data beyond it continues at low speed. Austria, Croatia and Hungary sell 50 GB instead, and there extra data above the allowance is bought per GB in your account (Starlink help). If you work from the campervan, stream every evening or drive beyond the European group, Unlimited is the safer choice – you can switch plans in your account each month. Example for a 5-month season in Germany: 5 × €45 = €225 for 100 GB or 5 × €95 = €475 for Unlimited, plus the Mini X and shipping once, €218.

The rules that matter on the road

Europe counts as one area. Starlink groups Åland, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guernsey, Hungary, Iceland, the Isle of Man, Ireland, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Svalbard and the United Kingdom. If your account is registered in one of them, travel inside this group isn’t subject to the 30-day limit – the 100 GB plan works on a trip from Lisbon to the North Cape (Starlink help).

Outside the group, only Unlimited. Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Serbia, Turkey or Morocco are outside the European group. There Roam Unlimited works for up to 30 days at a time, and only where Starlink is licensed; the 100 GB and 50 GB plans don’t. You can switch to Unlimited in your account before the trip and back afterwards. For use outside your home country Starlink may ask for travel registration with a passport or other photo ID.

Your home country is where you live, not where Roam is cheapest. The account’s home country should be the main place you use the service; if you use it for a long time in another country, Starlink may require you to move the account there, and it prohibits using roaming to avoid taxes or local rules. The table shows what each country’s residents pay – order for the country you actually live in.

In motion up to 160 km/h. All Roam plans support in-motion use up to 160 km/h in authorized locations, plus inland waterways and territorial waters up to 12 nautical miles from shore. Residential never works in motion, and Standby Mode isn’t meant for it either. Starlink’s list of hardware supported in motion names Starlink Mini, Standard 4 and Performance (Starlink help). Spain prohibits in-motion use on land.

Between trips: Standby Mode. Roam can be paused in your account for a small monthly fee and keeps unlimited low-speed data up to 500 kbps for messages and easy reactivation (Starlink help). That is cheaper than paying a full month you don’t use – the app shows the fee before you confirm.

Frequently asked questions

How much is Starlink Roam in Europe?

In most euro countries Roam 100 GB costs €45 and Roam Unlimited €95 a month (order forms, October–November 2026). Belgium and Bulgaria charge €40 for 100 GB; Austria and Croatia sell 50 GB for €40; Unlimited is €86 in Bulgaria and €89 in Austria, Belgium and Croatia. Countries outside the euro charge in their own currency – for example 505 kr in Norway, 185 zł in Poland or £55 in the UK.

Does Starlink Roam work in all European countries?

Yes – if your account is registered in a European country, every Roam plan works across Starlink’s European group (the EU countries plus the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and a few territories) with no 30-day limit. Outside that group, for example in Montenegro, Albania or Turkey, only Roam Unlimited works, up to 30 days at a time.

Can I use Starlink Roam while driving?

Yes, up to 160 km/h in authorized locations. Spain prohibits in-motion use on land. Residential plans never work in motion, even with a Mini dish.

Can I order Roam in a cheaper country?

Not as a way to save. Your home country is where the account is registered and should be where you mainly use Starlink; Starlink may require you to move the account if you use it for a long time elsewhere and prohibits using roaming to avoid local rules. Order for the country you live in.

Which dish do I get with Roam?

The Mini X in almost every country we checked, for €199 (CHF 189 in Switzerland, £179 for the Mini Kit in the UK) plus shipping; it’s yours to keep. A Router Mini for more Wi-Fi range is an optional extra, for example €60–65.

How do I get the referral reward?

Order Roam on starlink.com through the link on our Starlink page. The checkout shows the referral as applied; the reward – €45 in euro countries, or the local amount in the table – arrives as cash or service credit about 60 days after activation if you stay subscribed for at least two months. New customers only.
