Rent, don’t buy

With a Residential plan, Starlink rents you the dish and router for €0 upfront and €0 a month in all six countries we checked. The kit stays Starlink’s – Starlink support says you return it within 30 days of cancelling, or you’re charged the full kit price. In Italy and Spain the order form adds €19 shipping; Italy also showed the first month free (a 30-day free trial) on 14 October 2026. Promotions change, so check the kit and shipping lines in the order summary.

Residential or Roam?

Residential plans are for one address and don’t work on the move. They are the cheapest way to get Starlink at home or at a holiday home that you register as the service address.

Roam plans are for travel: Roam 100GB works across Europe and the UK, Roam Unlimited in 160+ countries, and both work on the move up to 160 km/h in supported regions. In Germany on 6 October 2026 they cost €45 and €95 a month; other countries show Roam prices on starlink.com.

Both can be paused with Standby mode for a small monthly fee instead of cancelling – handy for a holiday home you only use in summer.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Starlink cost per month in Europe?

Residential 100 Mbps costs €35 a month in Germany, France, Italy and Spain, zł 135 in Poland and Kč 745 in Czechia (starlink.com order forms, 14 October 2026). Faster plans cost €45–75 a month in the euro countries we checked.

Do I have to buy the Starlink dish?

No. With a Residential plan the dish and router are rented for €0 upfront and €0 a month in all six countries we checked. The kit stays Starlink’s, and you send it back when you cancel.

Which European country has the cheapest Starlink?

Of the six countries we checked, Czechia and Poland are the cheapest once converted: Kč 745 and zł 135 are each roughly €30–32 a month, depending on the exchange rate. Germany, France, Italy and Spain charge €35. Residential is tied to a service address, so you order it for the country where you use it.

Is there a contract or a trial?

There’s no contract in any of the six countries: you can cancel any time and return the kit. Every order has a 30-day trial with a full refund if you cancel and send the kit back in good condition.

How much is Starlink installation?

Installation is optional – most people set the kit up themselves. Professional installation costs €172 in Germany, France, Italy and Spain, zł 728 in Poland and Kč 4,350 in Czechia; non-standard installs can cost more.

How do I get the referral reward?

Order a Residential or Roam plan on starlink.com through the link on our Starlink page. The checkout confirms the referral; the reward (€45, zł 190 in Poland, Kč 1,000 in Czechia) arrives as cash or service credit about 60 days after activation if you stay subscribed for at least two months. New customers only.

Is it worth waiting for the new dish?

Probably not. As of 14 October 2026 Starlink hasn’t officially announced a new Standard dish – there are only leaks and a brief look at thinner dishes (Notebookcheck), with no date or price. With a Residential plan the kit is rented, so waiting saves nothing: you can cancel and send it back at any time.
